The World Peace Orchestra (WPO) founded by Dwiki Dharmawan. WPO’s first performance is at World Peace Forum, held in Jakarta Indonesia on August 2006. With exploration of many musical genre, WPO express hope through music. The rich cultures and traditions from many musical background are an inexhaustible source of inspiration and creativity especially on desire to explore various music tradition and local wisdom that have a unique voice and imagination that the world needs to hear.
On the 2008 Java Jazz Festival, Dwiki Dharmawan-WPO will perform with the line up of International and Indonesian musicians : Dwiki Dharmawan(Keyboards&Synth), Walfredo Reyes jr (Drums), Andy Suzuki (Saxophone), Roger Burn (Vibes and Marimba), Tollak Ollestad (Harmonica), Steve Thornton (Percussion) as well as Indro Hardjodikoro (Bass), Ivan Nestorman and Dira (Voices) and Ade Rudiana (Kendang).
Dwiki currently working on his new album ‘The World Peace Orchestra’ which also supported by Jimmy Haslip and Russel Ferrante from Yellowjackets, Guitarist Frank Gambale, Australian guitarist Guy Strazz and many more musicians, under Omega Pacific Production.
Dwiki created this WPO album to communicate to people across the boundaries of time, nationality, race and gender through music.

As musician, Dwiki explore many musical genre. His has various works with musicians, music groups, composers, choreoghraphers and film directors. Dwiki is one of international musician from Indonesia that have frequently performed in international musical events. Dwiki has presented his music at the Lincoln Center – New York, Chicago Cultural Center, Hot Summer Jazz – St. Paul, Toronto Jazz Festival, Vancouver Jazz Festival, Sziget Festival-Hungary, Midem-France, North Sea Jazz Festival , Montreaux Jazz Festival as well as in numerous other performances in China, Japan, Australia, Spain, Bulgaria, Rumania, Serbia-Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Republic of Slovakia, Venezuela, Malaysia, Singapore and many more.
Born in Bandung, West Java in 1966, Dwiki began learning classical piano at the tender age of six. from an early age, he has displayed extraordinary talent, creating a number of instrumental works. His career as a musician really took off when he formed Krakatau in 1984. Since the end of 1990, he began to explore Indonesia’s traditional music, beginning with that of his homeland, the Sundanese music. Indonesia’s rich culture and traditions are an inexhaustible source of inspiration and creativity. Spurred on by his desire to explore Indonesia’s music tradition, he turned his attention further to the music from other parts of the country, Acehnese, Melayu, Javanese, Balinese and those from the eastern regions of the country. Even stronger was the desire to see Indonesian traditional music given its proper recognition and appreciation even at an international level.
Dwiki currently working on his new album ‘The World Peace Orchestra’ due for release in June 2008 under Omega Pacific Production, with the support from world-class musicians, such as Jimmy Haslip, Russel Ferrante, Walfredo Reyes Jr,Tollak Ollestad, Andy Suzuki, Roger Burn, Guy Strazz, Steve Thornton, Frank Gambale and many more as well as Indonesian Musicians.
In addition to producing nine albums with Krakatau and with numerous well-known artists, Dwiki Dharmawan also has released a solo album entitled ‘Nuansa’ in 2002 with the Sony Music Entertainment with the support from Mike Stern, Lincoln Goiness, Richie Morales, Michael Thompson, Neil Subenhaus and many more.
His involvement in the Farabi Music Institute reflects his deep interest in Indonesia’s and international music network and development.
